Home based at NAS North Island, California, VC-3 subsequently moved to NAS Point Mugu. VU-3 was redesignated VC-3 on July 1, 1965. March 10, 1975. Grumman US-2C Tracker 133347 suffered an emergency landing on a foam covered runway when it had a landing gear malfunction. Naval Air Station Cubi Point, Republic of the Philippines. Perhaps this is why it is seen back in Continental USA after being returned to a Naval Aviation Rework Facility for major repairs before being shipped back across the Pacific.
