harry, i am sorry, but neither nor. the above shown castle is seated 250 kilometers north from baden-baden. it's called "schloss stolzenfels" and is near koblenz. please see it on google maps: it is here.

de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Stolzenfels is a german article about the castle. Perhaps you could adapt the tags?

I added some tags but I can't delete the wrong tags: it's neither Karlsruhe nor Baden-Baden, Schwarzwald, Black Forest etc. ... even though it is written on the negative!

I used to live there, but I can't remember now is that Koenigswinter and the Drachenfels, Bad Honnef or Linz am Rhein.

That's Rhinefels Castle on the hill so I think the village is Sankt Goar, less than 2km from the Lorelei Rock but on the other side of the river Map: www.google.ie/maps/place/St.+Goar/@50.1511296,7.7154121,1... the two seated characters at centre, are they backward seated into a bench on is one working on an artist's easel? pretty scene, the row boats have a distinctive raised prow

Mind you, see one German river and you've seen them all. It could as easily be Kufstein, where there is still a Hotel Goldener Loewe.
