I'm pretty sure this is the same man that appears in the picture with the wiggly vapour trails, about three pictures ealier in your photostream.

I think that the developer was a joker as in the most of thats photos

Search William Hope. He was one of the premiere spirit photographers of the early Twentieth Century and was considered by believers and supporters to be a true master of the art of producing spirits on ordinary photographic plates. To others, he was a clever trickster and while he had more than his share of detractors, he was often accused of fraud but was never caught at it -- thanks to the controversy that surrounded the main attempt to expose him.

Although I do believe in the paranormal from personal experience- I am not convinced by any of these as I'm convinced they are created using a 'dodge & burn' technique at the printing stage.

This was likely something that passed as 'real' back in those days when technology wasn't what it is today (people were more trusting back then).
