    CASSIDY PHOTOGRAPHY There wasn't, you know. The gas was all coal gas, heating was all turf or coal, electricity generation (in Dublin) was coal fired, trains were all coal fired. There was also a lot more polluting industry in Dublin in those days. Dublin's not great in terms of air quality, but it's a lot better than it was.
