Though it would probably take them some time... since we have some great "pubs" & "parlors" where I live! For a while I worked for a large multi national company and a big American colleague asked me one day if I had ever heard of John Treacy. I told that I had seen him win his World Cross Country medal in Limerick and had always admired him.
He was a basketball player at the same College in the US as John who was a legend there. All the athletes there many of whom were giant in stature looked up to him for his attitude and talent.
