CNAC Pilots

Interesting photo, as this is a license-built Japanese copy of the Douglas DC-3, the Showa L2D Tabby ("Tabby" the Allied codename for the aircraft) with its distinctive extra windows along the side of the flight deck. It would be interesting to know the circumstances that this aircraft came into service for CNAC and/or the circumstances that brought this CNAC crew and Tabby together (perhaps one found at a captured airfield - albeit in seemingly excellent shape and not scuttled?).

I've often wondered what happened to the L2Ds after the war. It seems incredible to me that they were ALL scrapped, especially the ones in China.
