Henry Richmund Inigo-Jones Born 17th December 1891 London. The 1901 census records him living at the family home Kelston Park, Bath.

with his mother Elinor Margaret [b.1860 London], older sisters Alise [b.1885 London] and Maud [b.1890 London] and eleven staff. His father [who is Major-General Richmund Inogo-Jones] is not recorded as living at the house.
The 1911 census records him living at 17 Grosvenor Square, London with his grandmother Margaret Charteris [b.1835 Dublin, Ireland] along with, again, eleven domestic servants.
He joined the Scots Guards as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1912 and was promoted Lieutenant in 1913.
Died 14th September 1914 France. Left £2240 9s 5d to his mother Elinor Margaret Jones and Edmund Butler Charteris [half-brother?] His father predeceased him on 20th July 1914.

Lieutenant Henry Richmund Inigo Jones SCOTS GUARDS. Son of Major General Inigo Richmund Jones CB CVO (Late SCOTS GUARDS) (23 Sep 1848-20 July 1914) and his second wife Elinor Margaret Charteris. In 1901 his father would have been away commanding the Guards Brigade fighting in the Boer War. Grandson of Lieutenant Colonel Inigo William Jones JP DL 1st Dragoons of Kelston Park, Somerset, (b 1806-d 1878).

Lieutenant H R I Jones SCOTS GUARDS was killed in action on 14th September 1914, aged 22. On 14th August 1914 the 1st Battalion Scots Guards were part of 1st (Guards) Brigade in 1st Division of the BEF.//

You have to feel sorry for his mother, losing her husband and son both within a couple of months.

Robert Frederick Balfour. Born in the first quarter of 1883, baptised on 16th March of that year at St George’s Church, Hanover Square, London. Second child and oldest son of Edward Balfour 8th Laird of Balbirnie [b.1849 Fife d.1927 London] and Isabella Weyman Balfour nee Hooper [b.1859 Boston Mass. USA d.1938 Fife]. The 1891 records him as a visitor to the Lott household - a lodging house, at Grand Parade, Eastbourne, Sussex along with his older sister Alice Georgiana [b.1880 d.1979], younger brother Edward William [b.1884 d.1955] –and who was later to succeed the title to become the 9th Laird after Robert was killed – and younger sister Eva Katherine [b.1888]. Robert would also have another younger brother John [b.1895] who was also a casualty of the war, being killed in action on 21st March 1918 while serving with the Signals Coy of 2nd Bn. Scots Guards at Aras. The 1901 census records him as a boarder at one of the houses of Eton College where he was a pupil. Not found in the 1911 Census – probably because by that time he was already serving in the army. London Gazette entries read; April 1912 – Lieut. Robert F Balfour is seconded for service on the staff. Dated 1st April 1912. April 1912 – Lieut. Robert F Balfour, Scots Guards, to be Aide-de-Camp to Major General W P Pultney C.B., D.S.O., commanding 6th Div. February 1913 – The under mentioned Lieuts. To be Captains....... Robert F Balfour (and to remain seconded) effective 18th Jan 1913. He was killed on 28th October 914 at Gheluvelt, Belgium and is buried in Sanctuary Wood Cemetery between and unknown soldier of the AIF and an unknown soldier of unknown nationality.

Service records of Lieut George Kenneth Asprey Scots Guards held at TNA (but can't find MIC for him). 1880 - 1947. Married Charlotte Esta Manisty in 1903.

Probably survived the First World War. A George Kenneth Asprey of 165/9 New Bond Street, London, is listed as a London Tax Commissioner for the City of Westminster in the London Gazette dated 2 August 1927.
