Who painted this? There are 6 concept paintings with the same signature, but I can't read it.

Lee Sherman Lee, I can't read them either, however they are stamped "General Dynamics Convair Aerospace Division" on the back....so I would assume that the artist worked for GD

Interesting image of the proposed B9U fly-back booster along with the autographed names of astronauts Don Peterson, Gordon Fullerton, Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, Tom Stafford, Buzz Aldrin, Karol Bobko, and Hank Hartsfield. Most of the names correspond with astronauts identified in photographs in this photostream examining the mock-up Convair/General Dynamics B9U cockpit. Presumably, these autographs were made at that time. In the late 70's, GDC particpated in NASA's Space Shuttle studies. Shown here are GDC's orbiter and flyback booster concepts. GDC teamed with Rockwell in the Phase B Shuttle studies.GDC's flyback booster was eliminated by NASA in favor of solid rocket booster and Rockwell developed the Shuttle orbiter, along with being the System Integrator. GDC did build the orbiter mid-fuselage structure. Jerry Butsko
