Decided to track down visual confirmation, given the conflicting references to his house being destroyed in 1800s vs. a house confirmed as Corneille's in 1906. The Bain photo matches this view of a museum in France, founded in 1879. I had thought from a search of this address on Google Maps / Streetview that it looked like the whole of this side of the street had been redeveloped now, but I had a browse around up and down the street and next to the new block stumbled across this exact same building, as it is today. It's now an antique shop.

Many of the Atget prints in our collection show angled edges that make the images appear as if they were digitized somewhat off center. This trimming was either done by Atget or someone else before they came into the collection at GEH. I asked around this morning and it is not common to see albumen prints with these angled edges, however it is common to most of the Atget prints in our collection. I sent out an email to a colleague in Paris who has the definitive Atget collection and asked if their prints show the same edges. I will share the information when I get a response. Thanks for the question!

Just as an aside, one of my colleagues who is French may be in Rouen this weekend and he was thinking of going to see this building. I also emailed the owner of the art gallery that can now be found there, but have had no response as yet.
