This is from the Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer, 8 July 1924: NEWCASTLE QUARTER SESSIONS Robert James Lockey and George Gilchrist, labourers were sentenced to nine months' imprisonment for shopbreaking. John William Archibold was sent to three years' penal servitude for a similar offence, the Recorder remarking that Archibold had deliberately and systematically entered upon a life of crime.
