Compare to faces in photos at Marie Doro - A Forgotten Star [To find them, search for the title on the web. Flickr seems to trap the URL, presumably because the host -- freewebs -- includes questionable content. Then choose the Oliver Twist link.] This looks to be the 1912 Broadway production of "Oliver Twist" starring Nat Goodwin (Fagin), Constance Collier (Nancy), Lyn Harding (Bill Sykes), and Marie Doro (Oliver). See www.ibdb.com/production.asp?ID=7447 and query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9F06E2DD143CE633A... and query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=980DE1D6173CE633A...

Thanks for the information. We'll look into it.

See, these women had talents even with their clothes on! :-)

this is great! i love it ♥

Chester the molester enjoying the show...

The Rutland State Fair girlie show lasted into the early 80's before it was shut down. It became extremely raunchy towards the end of its run (even I was shocked!)

Great image,Depth and expression of the human condition travling with a Carni in the 40's was a harsh life. The detail in these images brings to life so well those days of doubt and mystery.Very powerful.

See NYT of Jan 30, 1916 select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F00D17FF3E5D1A72... with headline, "SUFFRAGE OPERETTA IS CAST; Marie Dressler and Marie Doro Are in Mrs. Belmont's Play."

Thanks so much for this link swanq. We'll add some of the information about the operetta to each of the records the next time we update.
