Wreck of 144 and 143 near Hortons. Engineer passed a switch at Chiloway against orders with this result. His reason for doing so went to the grave with him.

Here's a wreck on the NYC's Water Level Route @ Amsterdam, NY. Looks to be in the early 1930's and no later than 1938...

Let me add that my date was wrong. This was April 8th 1918 near Lock 11 at Amsterdam, NY. A fast moving passenger train hit a derailed freight train. The engineer and fireman were the only casualties of the wreck.

Three men died and #70 was scrapped.
