Sorry : the capture is wrong: the 49th Infantry (The West Riding) division was very much a British Army formation. It was placed under Canadian command though during the liberation of the Netherlands. The division had the honour of liberating Arnhem after fighting with the German occupation forces who defended the empty city fiercely knowing full well the next city in for the fight was in thir homeland. The confusion regarding the 49th. was most likely not helped because they were generally known as the polar bears - see the divisional symbol - adopted after their time spend during 1940/41 as the defenders of Iceland. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/49th_(West_Riding)_Infantry_Division
