As per the Navy Historical Center, this is the USS Rambler (SP-211): "Crewmen in action with the ship's forward 3"/50 gun, while she was serving in French waters during 1918. "Note that the image's inscription incorrectly identifies the ship as USS 'Rumpler'." See: www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-usn/usnsh-r/sp211.htm

Navsource states the vessel in the lower right of this image is the RUSS (SP 1151). She was never commissioned in the Navy, but apparently served in the Navy as a patrol vessel. She was struck fro the Navy Register in late 1919. Source: www.navsource.org/archives/12/171151.htm

SP 1151 RUSS is at left. Although not a commissioned vessel, she served until struck from the Navy Register in late 1919. SP 1258 was a commissioned vessel, USS VELOCIPEDE; her DANFS entry is here: www.history.navy.mil/research/histories/ship-histories/da...
