Aviator Art Smith in a Harley-Davidson Baby Cup race car built for board racing by Maggini & Perkins at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) in San Francisco. "Maggini" was Al Maggini and "Perkins" was famed motorcyclist Dudley Perkins (Dud Perkins). At a guess the prints had either not been 'fixed' properly in thiosulphate or the latter wasn't been washed out of the gelatin properly.See my note on 'Hill_00027' (adjacent) ,I think this was laying face to face with it causing differential fading and 'ghosting'
