    Pretty obviously retouched--perhaps he was photographed in his previous team's uniform? The visor of his cap looks to be original, judging from the shadow it casts.
  • Jason McELweenie said:
    @splaestro this photo was not retouched. It was taken in a era when real life and the illustrated one collided. It is best evidenced by a certain period piece by the name of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" In this documentary the two worlds collide for what some call 'High Hilarity'

    @deneyterrio: Wow, that's deep.

    I believe the photo was taken when he played New Bedford (New England) team. Before being traded to Detroit.

    So sad, all chained up with the bandages on his lil paws. Brave, cute lil guy, so sad he had to live that kind of life.

    Happy Saint Patrick's Day, all. The Latin and angel in the image come from the Confessio I saw, in a vision in the night, a man whose name was Victoricus coming as it were from Ireland with so many letters they could not be counted. He gave me one of these, and I read the beginning of the letter, the voice of the Irish people.

    Haec est vox Hiberionacum, This is the voice of the Irish people
