If you squint, you can see the difference... So many changes for this area in such a sort time. Can't wait to see some images of the 20s & 30s in Easy Sydney - thems were the days...

Hmm, can anyone make out the intersection?

After spending a lot (too much) time, looking at it, I'd say it's Harvard, looking WNW - as per Google Maps Street View: maps.google.com/maps?client=safari&q=oxford+street,+r... The house on the western corner bears some resemblance to the one in the photo. As for the sign, while hard to read, it seems it may have a V about halfway down. And it's clear that Oxford is the major street in this intersection, as the boulevard intersects the right-of-way of the cross street. This, plus the limited stretch of Oxford which is a boulevard (though, of course, not necessarily, was) seems the best bet. Even looked at the shadows, but it must be late morning - they fall almost north-south, either way the camera is pointing.

Hmm, I will go back to the original and try and discern the street name, hopefully we'll be able to put this bad boy on the map!

An update: my sister, who grew up a block or two from there, says it's Oxford and Brighton - that she recognizes the house.

The tram is travelling westward (city bound), turning from Oxford St into Liverpool St.
