The obvious devastation/destruction is horrendous/horrific. The Allies suffered mass casualties. Such 'suicide missions' from so called British Leaders was despicable and there has been no official apology to the ANZACs. There has also been no official apology from British Leaders to ANZACs over another 'suicide mission' at the Battle of Passchendaele on 9th October 1917 when 843 New Zealand soldiers were either dead or lying mortally wounded between the front lines. My grandfather served in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force Auckland 1st & 3rd Battalion, he was a corporal in the Rifle Brigade. He did not fight at Gallipoli however he fought in Egypt 2x ion 1915 & 1916. He then sailed to France and fought in Somme. He fell ill with several illnesses including piles, haemoroids, pleurisy, phlebitis, and septic throat and was wounded in battle. He spent time in NZ Military Hospitals in Alexandria, Tidworth, Sling, and Codford. He spent 3 years 157 days overseas. He returned to New Zealand a totally broken man. I remain his dedicated loyal grandson at the age of 57 and I will continue to commemorate ANZAC Day here in New Zealand in honor of my grandfather's service to New Zealand. I will fight for justice and an official apology from Britain & British government officials to all the ANZACs who sacrificed their lives for victory in WW1. Right The Wrong.

Terrible Tragedy in every way. IF they objected or refused their jobs, they'd also be incinerated, Either way, they were victims of the politics and tyranny of the times there. We must be on guard against any tyranny developing again, like Bill C51 in Canada. Next step, it will be illegal to vote for any other party except the right-wing party in Canada's national elections, unless they also eradicate the elections altogether, as it happened in Germany in the late 1930's. We have already seen it in action during the G8 summit in Toronto Canada, police beat up and arrested people and pushed them back even from the designated protester's zone, even a guy just walking his dog, and they instantly changed the laws without due process or informing the people. The price of freedom IS ETERNAL VIGILANCE.

I wonder how the Allied side would be portrayed if the Axis had won the war?

I think they all lived somewhat 'innocent' lives after the war, except for Volkenrath, I'm pretty sure the Allies killed her.
