Probably North American XP-86 Sabre 45-59597 "PU-597" at Muroc Dry Lake ca. '46.

I agree with "Veedubber79." Three XP-86 (later redesignated XF-86) prototypes were built, serials 45-59597 through 599. All three were lost during testing. George "Wheaties" Welch and Ken Chilstrom were two of the test pilots who flew 597. Welch is one of the few pilots who got airborne during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. Chilstrom passed away in December 2022 at the age of 101.

F-86D serial 50-562, photographed at an open house display in 1952. It was later assigned to the Fighter Interceptor Weapons School at Tyndall AFB, FL.
