This two-seater monoplane is the Nicholas-Beazley NB-3, also known as the Barling NB-3. The emblem on the tail is probably the Nicholas-Beazley emblem, although it is here too faint to read. Compare with this photograph of a Nicholas-Beazley NB-3 sample 1000aircraftphotos.com/Contributions/Johannesson/2541.htm Characteristic thick wing is visible at the wing tip. From the priceless collection of the SDASM a few selections for the Barling NB-3

Ruth Alexander (b. 1905 - d. 1930) in the cockpit of her Barling NB-3 (Reg. NR-880M) with an oxygen "pipe stem" in her mouth (presumably demonstrating for the benefit of the photographer how it was used during her high altitude flights). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Alexander
