What some of you may not know is this plane is in the building "built" or authorized by Henry Ford for the 1935/1936 Centennial Exposition in what is San Diego's Balboa Park.....The theme of one area was very industrial, with the Ford Building being a primary example...looking down from an aircraft above the building shows the "8" shape: camshaft gear and crankshaft gear to promote and commemorate Ford's V-8 engine....It is most fitting that a FORD Trimotor should have found a home in Henry Ford's building.
