25" OSI O'Dea took a reverse shot which shows the station house and platform. All the buildings were demolished in the 70's for 'security' reasons.

The station has a little entry in wikipedia, which states that the station closed in 1965, around the time of this photo.

Aerial view from Google maps. The station, platform and signal box were South of the road from the East, near the line of trees. In the OSI's Ortho from 2000, you can still see the spot where the station was, but it is overgrown now.

Conflicting closing dates---- 1887 or 1965? "The station opened July 1850 by the Dublin & Belfast Junction Railway. Initially named “Plaster”, the station was renamed “Mount Pleasant and Jonesborough” the following year. In 1855, it became “Mount Pleasant”. The station closed in 1865 but reopened later, only to be finally closed in 1887." An Industrial Heritage survey of Railways in Counties Monaghan and Louth page 35

I don't think the station looks abandoned for 80 years - I think the 1965 date for closure looks more likely...
