    The caption on this photo says that this is Able 4. Well it is definitely not... The tail number on the rocket is 628, so this in fact is Atlas 10D - Big Joe 1. This was America's first Mercury Space Capsule. The date of the photo must therefore be the 10th of august 1959. On this day the capsule was transported to Launch Complex 14 at the Cape with the same Chevrolet Flatbed truck as seen on this photo and hoisted on top of the Atlas 10D Missile. See also photo with PictionID: 43060985, this is also missile 628 with a photo of the same 1st Mercury Capsule.
