    No You already has shown AJ148 as O7A and one thing I am certain of, is that nobody ran around Oran airport in Dec 1942 with a paintbrush redecorating Martlets.... :-) Since AJ128 is known to have carried O7G in Dec 1942, I think we can be pretty certain this is the one and that either Ray or you have had fingertrouble here when writing the tag. And yes, AJ128 was 'D' of 881 Sq before going to 888 Sq (see another photo of yours). Stig

    Royal Navy did not adopt the name Wildcat until 1 Jan 1944. This is thus a Grumman Martlet IV FN114. The code O(back slash)9 was adopted by RN 893Sq for Operation Torch (the invasion of French North Africa) and since we can see it has British roundels again, I would say this is early 1943. Stig
