This is one of twelve pre-production Albatros D.Is ordered in June 1916, serial number 391/16. It was flown by Ltn. Franz Büttner of Jasta 2. During December 1916, the British forced Ltn. Büttner and his aircraft down alive and intact. Max. speed: 109.4 mph. Service ceiling: 17,000 feet. Climb: 3,280 ft. in 6 minutes. Endurance: 1 hour, 50 minutes. Hence, this is a captured German Albatros D.I.

Originally assigned to Rockwell Field, San Diego, Spad VII B9913 served with the Victory Loan Flying Circus, Far West Flight from April 10 to May 10, 1919. It is in the process of being assembled for the air show in Seattle on April 23, 1919.
