This is actually a photo of the Duo-4 at Muroc Dry Lake (a.k,a. Rogers Dry Lake) in March 1931, after a gust of wind caused it to nose over and collide with the car in the photo, as well as a camera (as seen in the British Pathé / British Paramount newsreel footage linked below). Of course, Muroc today is the site of Edwards Air Force Base. A photo in front of the Alcor Duo-6 (NX962Y), the same airframe as the prototype Duo-4, but equipped with more powerful Menasco B6S Buccaneer engines.
