His German Wikipedia page: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josef_Friedrich_Matthes Google will sort of translate the page into English for you. Sort of. This photo and the other in Coblenz are dated 11/1923, but the "3053" series returns to 1914. Something strange happened to Bain's filing system.
