Do I detect a censor hand here? No sign of any tailnumber here... But we now recognise a typical British rural area below the practice formation. It seems Carl moved from 29TCS to 48TCS, possibly when arriving in Britain. Stig

James William Marshall, the son of Bert Wilder Marshall Jr began in the 1980s (or so) researching the FG his father once belonged. His first book about the unit was published in 1984 and the second one (by Schiffer) in 2013. 'Our might Always'. A highly recommended (and in many ways ultimate) tribute to a very successful unit. At this point I have no idea how many of the following photos are in the book, but if anyone is reading this text, and if you are interested in US Fighter history of WW 2, it is a book you should have. So my advise is - GET IT! Thanks SDASM for putting the photos on line and perhaps even more, thank you Bill for writing the book(s). Cheers Stig

Looking more closely, I notice you have set this up as a "two-part" pictorial. The second one, where basically all photos from the book are shown just as they were published. You also begin that part with an acknowledgement on each photo from where they came! The first part, which begins here, have a large number of duplications but also many photos not in the book. Stig
