  Mr Manning of 103 Grafton Street was advertising the post of Assistant Buyer and Charge Hand (Male or Female) for his mantle and fur department in the Belfast News-letter Saturday, March 26, 1898. Good experience, appearance, and address indispensable.

  Her Excellency the Countess Cadogan wore a dress specially designed by Mr. Alfred Manning, of Grafton Street, made of a very beautiful and striking silk material, with a bright gem chartreuse tinsel stripe, which shimmered and shone at every movement. The skirt was long and full, with points round the foot set in with accordion-shot silk; a coat-shaped bodice, accordion silk vest, large revers of silk, outlined in Chartreuse velvet, and lovely Limerick lace, with large paste and enamel buttons of quaint design, completed the charming costume, which was crowned by a small capote bonnet, in black chenille, Chartreuse osprey, and sequins.
