    Thank you for your question, monkeyfinger. According to the photo archivist for the State Archives of Florida, when the prints of that time period (1940s) came to the Archives from the Department of Commerce they were mounted on a card with information about each photo. The original negatives were 4x5, and the contact print was made directly from the negative. Hope that helps.
