The Corn Exchange Building was built in 1887. It also held a pig and fruit market below.

State Library of New South Wales RW - Thanks for the confirmation. I had a thought that it might just be the NE corner because of the shadows. Descriptions like "at the corner of X and Y street" can be in four locations, an annoying general fault of the English language usage, not particularly of this photo!
