The Talbot Powers were living there in 1901, whereas in 1911 it was the residence of El-Lewa Edward Armstrong Johnson, Pasha, 2nd Class Medjidieh and his family.

From the archive, a Malton which is earlier and in colour!

Niall McAuley said:
Per the DIA it may be by James Gandon or may be William Gibson, and opened in 1790. That Malton is from 1794 when it was brand new.

Anti-kangaroo barriers?

I think that this is here (Streetview), meaning that it would be the Cactus (nearer bit), Aquatic (middle bit with the finials) and Fern Houses (further taller part) which at least in 2015 were undergoing restoration. There is a sign on the hoardings claiming that the existing Fern House dates from 1966, but it replaced an 1887 building. The Cactus house dates from 1890.

Reverse view with more anti-kangaroo barriers visible.
