It's wonderful that NARA put Clarence Gideon's petition online. Please note that the document is dated January 5, 1962 (not June 5, 1962), though! Katja

It's great to see such a ground-breaking legal document here on Flickr! I don't understand why it is captioned in presentation out of order ... perhaps it has to do with an "archival protocol" or something, however it might be advantageous for folks to be able to read the document in "consecutive order". Said differently, "(page 1 of 5)" [above] is actually "page 4" of the five-page document... "(page 5 of 5)" is actually "page 1" of the document... etc. I did note that the digital copies stored at ARC Identifier 597554 are captioned and displayed in the correct order.
