Another view of the Friedel-Ursinus bomber prototype. This picture shows clearly the idea why the fuselage was high up against the top wing. The MG's could fire at 360 degrees (at least horizontally) without hitting anything, as also the tail section was beneath the fuselage upper part. Oskar Ursinus was the founder of the German bi-monthly aviation magazine Flugsport in 1908 and its only editor for an unbelievable time (1908-1944). After 1944 the magazine ceased publication. The Allied forces when occupying Germany in 1945 found it necessary to take away the whole massive Flugsport archive (inclusive its vast photo archive). Parts of this collection can be found scattered around the world (like the Library of Congress) and are even sold sometimes individually via Ebay.
