I think it's great that Fox Talbot was so ahead of his time - "This photo was taken some time in 1843 using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.". :-) On a more serious note, is that a ships mast and rigging through the window ?

Nicolaas Henneman (1813-1898), Dutch photographer; his Dutch Wikipedia entry: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolaas_Henneman He worked as Fox Talbot's valet and photographer's assistant, then opened his own studio in Reading in 1843.

This statue was (is?) at Lacock Abbey, which was Fox Talbot's house and is now a museum about him, run by the UK National Trust.

The Gate of Honour, which graduates pass through. More recently, on Flickr: [http://www.flickr.com/photos/84298790@N00/2812358082/] Looks like they've cleaned up the ivy from the top of the gate.
