The photo is of an American, Donald Charles Allnatt, who enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in World War II from 1941 through 1945, serving as a pilot and an elementary flying instructor.

I'd say "Nice truck. Well, it was"...but look at how bald that tire is.

That is a macintosh the girl is wearing - a style that was very widely sold during the mid-1950s. Rather similar material to a riding mac but a bit lighter in weight and with a tartan pattern printed(?) on it. They used to get quite dirty and the rubber lining cracked where it was folded. Generally speaking clothes were still in short supply (rationing continued well after the war) and expensive so they had to be made to last longer than we are used to these days.

This is one of our favorites, too, for that very reason. I wonder if she realized she would be in the picture.
