This photograph was not taken on July 2 2013. The F4U-7, BuNo 133693, 'Blue Max' crashed at Brown Field, Chula Vista, CA on May 10, 1987. The aircraft was destroyed with the loss of the pilot and his passenger.

Goodyear F2G-1 Corsair 88457 was registered as NZ5588N after the war and became a Thompson Trophy racer (Number 84) and was flown by Tony Janazzo in the 1947 Thompson Trophy Race. Unfortunately, the aircraft crashed on the seventh lap of the race, killing the pilot.
