This would be Clara Driscoll Sevier (1881-1945), a Texas-born writer; she wrote a comic opera called "Mexicana," and financed its 1906 Broadway run. Her husband Hal Sevier was also a Texan; he was US ambassador to Chile in the 1930s. Clara was active in women's clubs, Texas politics, and real estate development: www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/DD/fdr4.html

This would be Clara Driscoll Sevier (1881-1845) ... Typo, s/b: (1881-1945) Clara, as a teenager, also "Saved the Alamo" from redevelopment by personally paying most of the purchase price, and preserving it for future generations. "When the childless, thirty-one-year marriage was dissolved, Clara legally resumed her maiden name and was thereafter officially known as Mrs. Clara Driscoll." The Handbook of Texas
