From the 91st Aero Squadron History, on March 10, 1918, pilots Cook, Foster, Alfred W. Lawson and Van Heuvel were sent to Cazaux, France for gunnery training. They spent a month there, and on the way back, they ferried these French Dorand type A.R. reconnaissance planes from Orly Aerodrome to their then aerodrome at Amanty. However, by April 21, 1918, the 91st Aero received their first four Salmson 2A2 observation planes to replace the A.R.s, so they never actually flew these A.R.s on any operational patrol.
