A blogger identifies this as follows: "Ali Pasha Market is located in the north-western side of Damascus Citadel wall, and extends from Marja Square to the horse market. Built by Ali Pasha Morley between 1875 - 1877. The market was specialized in selling the finest fresh and dried fruits, but it exposed for many of the Barada River's flooding, and most of the shops were under water. In the second half of the forties of the twentieth century the market was demolished under the pretext of organizing the region." rozana.fm/en/18393-ali-pasha-market-in-damascus
