Strubbel2013 I think you are asking if this is the border of Italy/ Germany and what is happening? The image relates to Czech migrant Alex Nypl who migrated to Australia in the late 1940s. Alex journeyed to Italy to join the migrant ship PROTEA which sailed to Melbourne from Genoa in 1948. I hope that makes sense :)

I think what needs to be noted is that there is no border between Germany. Never was unless we accept the Anschluss that ended in 1945. This photo was taken in 1948 and mr Nypl may have been confused, he would have crossed the border from Austria to Italy.
