Judging from his raccoon eyes, I'd guess this man worked in a foundry...

The facade of the Jesuit Church dates from 1900, according to the NIAH, so right at the end of this date range if not later.
  • Niall McAuley said:
Electric streetlight suggests after 1902, although the source doc for that date has succumbed to link rot.

St. Josephs chuch is visible at left, but does not yet have its "exaggerated pediment". The NIAH says it was consecrated in 1904.

Say, its only a paper moon Sailing over a cardboard sea But it wouldn't be make-believe If you believed in me Yes, it's only a canvas sky Hanging over a muslin tree But it wouldn't be make-believe If you believed in me Without your love It's a honky-tonk parade Without your love It's a melody played in a penny arcade It's a Barnum and Bailey world Just as phony as it can be But it wouldn't be make-believe If you believed in me.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/51979177@N02] Well found, we couldn't find anything much on this act. We presumed they were performing in England as most of Ms Kerr's ephemera in this collection is from the UK.
