    The guy in the middle in the suit is Jim Myers who owned the airport parking concession. The guy on the right in the suit is my dad, Tony Dowd, who ran Byrd Airport from the mid fifties to the late eighties. The other folks are Myers' employees.

    This is one of my favourite airplanes! I cycled out to Shannon or even Rineanna especially to see them way back in the 1950's!

    derangedlemur Sharon Corbet As a Limerick native who has heard my fellow citizens claim Shannon on more than one occasion only to be shot down in flames by irate Clare men and women I was waiting for that! Shannon is of course in Co. Clare. The plane is a Super Constellation and I always considered it the most beautiful and elegant of the airliners!
