I feel nostalgic for an era I didn't live in thank you for preserving and sharing history like this someone said on another picture you don't get near as many responses as you should, but, hey, you're amazing and people are strange. They'll get to appreciate... eventually.

I am about to have an exhibition of paintings and photographs at the Musee de l'Eventail at 2 bvd Strasbourg, opening on 14 May until August 1, so I find it especially apt to see that Atget produced some of his most familiar pictures in this boulevard. Today someone asked me why I was having an exhibition in Paris. What a strange enquiry! Furthermore, my stepfather, Eric Thake with whom I spent a good deal of my childhood and adolescence was one of the most distinguished surrealist painters and woodcut artists in Australia in the second half of the twentieth century.
