The bull ring was located on the south side and behind Old Mission of Guadalupe in today's Vicente Guerrero Avenue, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México (formerly Paso del Norte [NOT Paseo del Norte], Chihuahua, México). Paseo is a street or avenue where you ramble or, to stroll about freely, as for relaxation, with no particular direction. Paso=pass=a place allowing easier passage.

The bull already maddens just before coming out to the ring, when de "divisa" is nailed on its "morrillo" (crest). The subordinate bull fighters are making casting throws with their struggle cloaks. The matador (main bull fighter) also makes so. In that way he knows the braveness, temper, trichiness and other cualities or deffects of the bull; speed to attack (onslaught) when he is called to, etc. This is called "suerte de capote" (cloak sort) which is part of the first third: or "tercio de varas" (sticks third).
