Dorothy D. Smith (1903-1995) of Newton Centre, Massachusetts, began her archery competitions at the age of nine. The daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Louis C. Smith, both of whom were notable archers, Dorothy was the National Archery Association Women's Champion in 1919, 1921, 1922, 1924, 1925, 1926 and 1931, and was an eleven-time winner of the Eastern Archery Association title. She later married Henry S.C. Cummings and was inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame. [1] [2] [3]
