My Great Uncle i would like to know how you acquired this picture

Graham Jennings This photograph comes from The Queenslander newspaper, which published pictures of Queensland servicemen as they embarked for the First World War. Over the last 2 years, the State Library has been digitising all of these portraits - nearly 27 000. The image here in Flickr was created before this project and a better quality image is available on the State Library's website at hdl.handle.net/10462/deriv/396744 You can also download a high resolution version of the image for free. Please don't hesitate to get in contact again if you would like more information about this soldier, or have a story to share with us. You can contact us at discovery@slq.qld.gov.au

I have also made a correction to the name in this image, from Blackman to Blackmann.

We believe that this serviceman, although identified as Thomas Blackmann in The Queenslander newspaper is actually Thomas Blackman (Service Number 3174) from Gayndah. His service record can be seen here: discoveringanzacs.naa.gov.au/browse/person/91198
