This woman was also know as Mary Richards (1787-1877). She was the daughter of Revd. Thomas Richards (1754-1837), vicar of Darowen, near Machynlleth, and his wife Jane. More information about him and about his family can be found on Welsh Biography Online.

The 1911 County Primary School still stands. The majority of the High School was demolished in the 1980s, with just the oldest part remaining. The photo shows the canteen kitchen block, across the road from the 1911 school, shared with the adjacent High School.
