This photo is dated 1951 but that date is incorrect. I'm in the photo, Todd Davis, 6th from right. My sister Fonda Davis is 7th from right. I was born 1949 and am probably 4 at least, maybe 5 or 6. Girl and boy at far right are my next door neighbors on Second Street, Hopewell, Diane and Steve Podlewski. Steve was my best friend. This was taken in our neighborhood.

These pictures are great. I guess this is an very early Mainframe. Very different to the current range of Blade servers :). Thank you for the pictures.

That's not even a true computer; it's a punched-card tabulating machine that is programmed by means of attaching patch cables to the board that the woman is inserting into the machine.

there ws no real electronic flash at that time -most of the stuff was done with 500Watt & up bulbs -the way it looks, the print was burned in at the corners in the print darkroom -or the photographer used a baffled reflector for taking the picture- my guess is f16 or 22 on a roughly 31/2 to 4 1/2 inch lens -one of the early wideangles for that film format.but -I am guessing a bit.

Love the lady's attire. Don't see many dress like that in the computer industry these days.
