Good eye, Nevada. Looks like this got flipped somewhere during processing. The mirror effect is evidently so good, that we'd never spotted this one. It stuck out like a sore thumb, though, when viewed along side the rest of our digital items containing this iconic imagery. Thanks for the spot! We've corrected the original image on our servers, and replaced it with the right one here. - Joe, NYPL Digital Experience Group

I camped on top of North Dome a couple times. Pretty nice. You can take a bus to a trailhead in the 'high country' and it's mostly downhill from there. After your overnight camping you can walk down to the valley.
